Phakeme Zungu

Phakeme was raised in small town in Nongoma, Northern KwaZulu-Natal, he is a proud father of two boys and a passionate hospitality professional with 8 years of experience in the industry. After completing a Diploma in Hospitality Management at Durban University of Technology, he built his career with leading hotel brands including the Hilton Durban, Sun International, First Group Management, Tsogo Sun Hotels, Marriott Hotels International and Southern Sun Hotels, where he spent eight years and progressed to General Manager.

In 2024, he joined Isibindi Africa Lodges as Lodge Manager at Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge before briefly expanding his safari expertise at Kwandwe Private Game Reserve. He returned to Isibindi in March 2026 as General Manager of Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge. Passionate about exceptional guest experiences and developing people, he believes that people will forget what you said or what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel. He’s here to play his part and make a difference.
