Mandla Gumede

Born in Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal, Mandla discovered his passion for building and fixing things at a young age through school craft classes. What started as an interest in carpentry soon grew into a lifelong career.

After completing school, he sharpened his carpentry skills through practical training in the Ilembe District before joining Channing Construction in 2005. There, he broadened his expertise to include electrical work, plumbing, and general building maintenance earning a reputation as someone who could turn his hand to just about anything.

In 2022, Mandla joined Isibindi Africa Lodges as Maintenance Manager. Whether it’s solving a tricky maintenance issue or ensuring every corner of the lodge is guest-ready, he’s the calm, capable pair of hands behind the scenes, helping keep everything running smoothly.
